This is another quick one, but I wanted to share a few prayer requests for the kids for the next few days. I am fairly nervous for them, and I know so many of you pray for us.
Heidi--praise that Heidi and Anna are with their friends in the middle school of our choice. Please pray for Heidi as her closest friend moved away, she is pretty nervous about making new friends. Please pray for smoothness to her day, that she will be able to open her locker easily and find her classes on time. Please pray that she finds someone to sit with at lunch.
Anna--praise that Anna's locker is next to Heidi, that they can be an asset to each other. Please pray that Anna will make wise choices in her friendships. Please pray that Anna will be gracious and a light in the classroom, especially as she may be dealing with some challenging teachers. Please pray that both Heidi and Anna can maintain some innocence as they branch out into a larger group of kids, as they interact with more kids that have different values than we do.
Luke--praise for being able to continue in the same elementary school. Please pray for Luke's nerves, that he will not have an upset stomach. Please pray for the provision of a good buddy for him. Please pray that he will be an example, that he will be able to be appropriately assertive in dealing with a particular student who is next to his coat hook. Please pray that Luke will not be overwhelmed with the new academic challenges.
Emily--praise for an awesome group of kids in her classroom, many of whom come from Christian homes, plus her best friend from kindergarten. Please pray for physical safety for Emily and energy to last the long day (and for good sleep). Please pray that her ears would be closed to any unkind comments. Please pray for trouble-free g-tube feedings, and for an increase of interest in food as it becomes a more social experience.
I am thankful we just have two days and then a weekend to "recover"! Also, Justin heads to the surgeons again tomorrow, his regular doctor think he has another hernia on the other side, so please pray for wisdom concerning another surgery. Thanks and happy schooling!
