God's perfect timing

"It's God's perfect timing", a garbage man told me, as we started the day celebrating Caleb's 4th birthday.  God in His great mercy and love, even cares about a 4 year old little boy's obsession with garbage trucks!  I mean really, it is no coincidence that Emily's teacher is married to a garbage man!  And what awesome people they are (remember the 53" bear sitting in our rocking chair and the multiple meal deliveries back in October)!  He switched shifts, started his day at 3 am, and switched trucks just so that Caleb could have a special garbage truck treat for his birthday!  Caleb said it was his favorite part of his day.  And he had quite a bit to choose from!  After the garbage truck surprise we headed out to a John Deere pavilion where Caleb climbed on 8-10 different pieces of equipment.  There were simulators and videos and of course a John Deere store to explore.  From there we went for pizza and ice cream and then checked into a hotel.  The pool was super tiny but not busy, and it was a fun way to end the day.  It was a nice break from routine and some good memories for the birthday boy! 

Despite the snow on the ground, spring is springing and is looking to be a busy season.  Heidi and Anna are winding down on badminton, finishing their season on the 28th.  Luke is just starting his track season.  The wintry weather caused today's meet to be cancelled, so we will see about the one planned for Thursday.  His season goes almost until Memorial Day.  We are home about a month before heading to our friends' fundraiser in Michigan.  From there we have plans to be out of town every other weekend until mid-June.  And a bigger vacation planned for July.  It is hard to believe, as always, that things school related are starting to wind down.  7 1/2 weeks or so until the last day.  Well, I mailed another batch of bows this morning, now it's time to start on the next batch!  I am going to stick with the job for now, it's providing us with a decent income and kids just seem to keep getting more expensive!
